Albuquerque Academy and Valley traded the lead back-and-forth on Friday, but eventually the Chargers prevailed 7-6, winning on a walk-off squeeze in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Chargers took an early lead in the first inning when Chase Weissenborn doubled with one out in the first inning. After Valley scored two runs in the top of the third, Academy answered with two of their own.
Nick Williams earned the win for the Chargers, pitching two innings in relief of Sebastian Baca who tossed five innings, surrendering three runs, six hits, striking out three, and walking one.
Williams and Markus Parrish each collected multiple hits for the Chargers.The Chargers move to 3-0 on the season.
