Boys Varsity Track at the Chile Quad at Sandia Prep

The Academy Boys Track and Field team finished first at the Chile Quad at Sandia Prep this past weekend. The Chargers finished with a total of 102 points, followed by Los Alamos with 96, St. Pius with 75, and Sandia Prep with 13. Three Academy athletes qualified for the state tournament with their results from the event, Matt Blumenschein '16 in the triple jump (41’ 6 1/2”); Jackson Morris '17 in the javelin (173') and discus (161'7"); Jordan Lesansee '16 in the 3200 meter run (9:48.59).
Two Chargers also set grade level records, Teagun Glenn '20 set two 8th grade records in the shot put (31'7") and the discuss (114'0"); Jackson Morris broke the junior grade record in the javelin (173'0").
