STATE CHAMPS!! One last summary of the girl’s varsity soccer season: The team finished 21-2 overall, matching the 2001 and 2010 team for the best season in program history. For the third straight year, they ended as State Champions and are ranked #2 in all NM classifications. The team is also ranked #8 in the western region and as high as 30th in the nation. Senior attackers Eliza Mariner, Tessa Anderson and Anna Carpio (the State Final MVP with 3 goals:) combined for a remarkable 115 goals and 60 assists on the year. Eliza crushed the single season scoring record with 62 goals and the career scoring mark in 4A/5A with 155 goals. She is ranked #2 in the nation in scoring while Tessa ranks #12 and Anna #18 in the nation in assists! Our equally incredible midfield, defense and goalkeeper, Lorelei Logan, led the state with 16 shutouts and only 10 goals against all year. A wonderful team effort.   In case you missed the State Soccer excitement, attached is a photo of the team and one of our remarkable senior class (Tessa, Anna, Eliza, Hannah Cheves, Claire Hibbett, Erin Pickett and Gabby Sanchez). Below are links to Thursday/Friday's highlights of both the girls and boys state tournament games and the ABQ Journal’s final article:    https://www.nmact.org/2018/11/thursday-highlights-from-the-fuddruckers-state-soccer-championships/   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q00maJpBVeo    https://www.abqjournal.com/1244835/girls-4a-soccer-carpios-hat-trick-sparks-academy-romp-past-hope.html   Thanks for all the support of the AA soccer programs!    Peter

The girls have earned a spot in the APS Metro Tournament Gold Bracket this coming week and will face perennial power, Eldorado HS in the semifinals. Please congratulate her and all the other amazing players on the team that helped Eliza reach this impressive milestone.
