Chargers Win: 12 - 2
Albuquerque Academy jumped out to an early lead over Sandia Prep and took home a 12-2 victory on Thursday. Cameron Russell earned the win for the Chargers. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs, four hits, striking out two, and walking one. Academy collected 12 hits. AJ Bregman and TJ Kim each collected multiple hits and Mikey Martinez, Markus Parrish, and Derek Purcella each drove in two runs to lead for the Chargers.
Two Pitchers Team Up As Academy Shuts Out Moriarty

Chargers Win: 10 - 0
Academy defeated Moriarty 10-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Brady Forde induced a fly out from Naz Garcia to finish off the game. The Chargers grabbed an early lead on a single by Sebastian Baca, a single by Markus Parrish, a walk by TJ Kim, and a single by Nicky Gaeto in the first inning. Bobby Ortega earned the win for Albuquerque Academy Chargers. He threw four innings, surrendering zero runs, one hit, striking out four, and walking one. Garcia took the loss for Moriarty. He went four innings, surrendering six runs, seven hits, and striking out five. The Chargers had nine hits in the game. Gaeto and Parrish each collected multiple hits and Parrish, Gaeto, and Baca each drove in one run to lead Academy. The Chargers stole nine bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Jon Saiz led the way with three.

The Chargers took an early lead in the second inning. With two outs in the second inning Matt McNaney drove in one run on a singled. After Rio Grande scored two runs in the top of the sixth, Academy answered with two of their own.  Cameron Russell earned the win for the Chargers. He pitched four and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs, two hits, and striking out two. AJ Bregman recorded the last seven outs to earn the save for the Chargers. Lopez took the loss for Rio Grande. He went five innings, allowing six runs, four hits, striking out one, and walking one. Jon Saiz, McNaney, Chase Weissenborn, and Derek Purcella each drove in one run to lead the Chargers.

Albuquerque Academy and Valley traded the lead back-and-forth on Friday, but eventually the Chargers prevailed 7-6, winning on a walk-off squeeze in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Chargers took an early lead in the first inning when Chase Weissenborn doubled with one out in the first inning. After Valley scored two runs in the top of the third, Academy answered with two of their own. Nick Williams earned the win for the Chargers, pitching two innings in relief of Sebastian Baca who tossed five innings, surrendering three runs, six hits, striking out three, and walking one.  Williams and Markus Parrish each collected multiple hits for the Chargers.The Chargers move to 3-0 on the season.

Sebastian Baca collected four hits in four at bats, as the Academy Chargers defeated Belen 16-8 on Tuesday. Baca doubled in the first, singled in the first, doubled in the third, and doubled in the fourth. Albuquerque Academy Chargers grabbed an early lead scoring 10 runs in the first inning. Albuquerque Academy Chargers scored on a triple by Chase Weissenborn, a double by Sebastian Baca, a double by Derek Purcella, a single by TJ Kim, a single by Weissenborn, and a single by Baca in the first inning. Belen scored six runs in the second inning. Belen's big inning was driven by a double by Abran Armijo, a double by Javin Herron, a single by Thomas Wisneski, and a single by Carlos Espinoza. Chris Pullen earned the win for Albuquerque Academy Chargers. He tossed two innings, giving up one run, one hit, and striking out four. AJ Bregman started the game for Albuquerque Academy Chargers. He threw two innings, surrendering six runs, eight hits, and striking out two. The Chargers had 15 hits in the game. Baca, Nick Williams, Weissenborn, and Martinez each collected multiple hits for Academy. The Chargers didn't commit a single error in the field and tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Kim led the way with two. Belen collected 12 hits. Herron, Henry Jaramillo, Armijo, and Tanner Parnell each collected multiple hits for the Eagles. Herron led Belen with three hits in four at bats.  The Chargers are now 2-0 on the season and will host the Valley Vikings on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Albuquerque Academy Chargers scored eight runs in the third on its way to an 11-1 victory over Grants High School on Saturday. Grants captured the lead in the first inning. Coy Maes drove in one when he singled in the first inning. The Chargers took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning.  The Chargers scored eight runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Nick Williams, a single by AJ Bregman, a walk by Jon Saiz, a error, and a error. Sebastian Baca earned the win for the Chargers. He pitched three and a third innings, surrendering one run, three hits, and striking out three. Cameron Russell came in the forth inning and finished the game without surrendering a baserunner  Tyree Flores took the loss for Grants High School. He tossed two and a third innings, surrendering 11 runs, and five hits. Chase Weissenborn went 1-for-4 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in.
